Profilbild Krämer

Jonathan Krämer’s work is located at the intersection of the anthropology of migration, critical border studies, and medical anthropology. His doctoral research explored the dynamics and effects of mandatory health screenings for documented migrant workers from Indonesia, for which he conducted extensive ethnographic fieldwork in Indonesia and Malaysia.
He currently develops a new project focused on the construction, implementation, and impact of border health policies in Southeast Asia.
Jonathan graduated in 2025 with a PhD in Social Anthropology from Stockholm University.
